Masters (Over 50’s) Singles Final

Danny Higgins (Australia) v Michael Fortune (Ireland)

The match started with the Irishman storming to a 4-0 lead and appeared to be cruising to easy victory.

Danny had other ideas, and with some brilliant pool won 6 straight frames to take what appeared a match winning lead 6-4.

Michael Fortune fought back and leveled the score at 6-6.

Both players continued to play open attacking pool with just the occassional sensible defensive shot as the match drew to the tense final stages.

Danny went 7-6 up but Michael immediately leveled at 7-7 to make the match go the full distance.

Michael Fortune took the final frame to win a very entertaining final, this gave the Irishman the Over 50 World Title for the second consecutive year.
